What are our Fees?

Standard consultation (initial and ongoing)

A standard 50 minutes consultation (including under the Better Access Scheme) costs $110. If you get a referral and you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you will get a Medicare rebate of $88.25 per session.

Medicare Rebates

Medicare rebates are available for psychological treatment by registered psychologists under the Better Access initiative.

If you are eligible for a Better Access Medicare funded service (50 minutes consultation) you will get a rebate of $88.25 per session.

Please note that you need a referral to claim from Medicare. For more information see the Referrals section.

Please note, you do not need a referral if you do not wish to claim from Medicare.

Payment for Consultations

Please note that you must pay the fee on the day of your consultation. You can pay the consultation fee with a debit or credit card (VISA or Mastercard).

This practice has a HICAPS terminal, which means that if you are eligible for a Medicare rebate or a private health fund rebate, you no longer have to make a separate trip to a Medicare office or your private health fund branch. You can lodge your claim on the spot and receive your rebate straight away.

Can I use my private health insurance to cover any additional costs?

You cannot use your private health insurance cover to pay any additional costs above the Medicare rebates for these services.

You need to decide if you will use Medicare or your private health insurance cover to pay for the psychological services you receive.

Please check with your private health fund to see if you are covered.

Please note you do not need a referral if you do not wish to claim from Medicare.

Cancellation Policy

Once an appointment has been made, a whole hour is reserved for you. We understand that unplanned issues can arise and you may need to cancel or rebook your appointment. If this occurs, we respectfully ask that you provide at least one business day’s notice before cancelling the scheduled consultation to avoid a cancellation fee of $55.

If an appointment is cancelled at short notice it is unlikely that the time can be used by anyone else. This affects other clients waiting to see the psychologist as well as the psychologist who has prepared for the session. We hope that you will agree that this is a fair policy.

This cancellation fee will be payable at your next session and is not claimable from Medicare or private health insurers.
